Selling
What Happens If a Buyer Hasn’t Paid?
Unpaid order/s can occur in two scenarios: negotiated offers or auctions. Here’s what you need to know:
-
Negotiated Offers:
- If a buyer makes an offer and the seller accepts, the item will automatically appear in the buyer’s checkout.
- The buyer must complete the purchase within 24 hours. During this period, the item cannot be removed from the checkout by the buyer.
- If the buyer fails to pay within 24 hours, the item will be removed from their checkout and will continue to be available for purchase by other buyers. Note that the item is never reserved and is still up for sale until the offer is finalized.
-
Auctions:
- In auction style events, the winning bidder has 24 hours to complete the purchase.
- During this time, the item is reserved for the winning bidder.
- If the buyer does not pay within the 24-hour period, the seller can relist the item.
Important Note: Sellers should not process any shipping protocols until the payment is completed. Always ensure that payment is confirmed before proceeding with shipment.
