MotoFest Classic Coventry 2026: Celebrating Britain’s Automotive Heritage

The ifndautoparts team headed to MotoFest Classic Coventry 2026 over the weekend to experience one of the UK’s most unique motoring events.

Held across Coventry city centre on 6th and 7th June 2026, MotoFest Classic brought together hundreds of classic vehicles, enthusiasts, clubs, and automotive businesses to celebrate the city often regarded as the spiritual home of the British motor industry.  

Unlike many automotive events, MotoFest Classic combines stunning historic locations with some of Britain’s most iconic vehicles, creating an atmosphere that’s difficult to find anywhere else.

 

Coventry Cathedral Ruins: A Stunning Setting

One of the highlights of the weekend was the display of classic and historic vehicles inside the spectacular Coventry Cathedral Ruins.

The centuries-old stone walls provided a dramatic backdrop for everything from classic Jaguars and vintage sports cars through to beautifully restored classics and enthusiast-owned vehicles.

Walking through the ruins, visitors could explore vehicles up close, speak with owners, and learn the stories behind many of the cars on display.

It was a fantastic reminder that automotive culture isn’t just about horsepower and performance — it’s also about preservation, craftsmanship, and history.

 

Celebrating Jaguar Heritage

As expected in Coventry, Jaguar was a major part of the weekend.

MotoFest Classic 2026 featured celebrations marking the 40th anniversary of the Jaguar XJ40, bringing together examples from across the UK and beyond. The event also showcased a variety of classic Jaguar models, highlighting the city’s long-standing connection to one of Britain’s most famous automotive brands.  

Among the displays were beautifully presented Jaguar XJS models, classic saloons, convertibles, and meticulously restored examples that drew plenty of attention throughout the day.

For Jaguar enthusiasts, it was undoubtedly one of the standout features of the event.

 

A Celebration of British Classics

While Jaguars were a major attraction, the event offered something for every classic car enthusiast.

Visitors could explore everything from vintage Volkswagens and British sports cars through to rare classics, club displays, and unique builds.

The variety on display showcased decades of automotive history, with vehicles representing many of the manufacturers that helped shape Coventry’s reputation as a world-leading automotive city.

The passion and dedication shown by owners was evident throughout the event, with many vehicles restored to an exceptional standard.

 

Motorsport & Automotive Culture

MotoFest Classic wasn’t solely focused on static displays.

The weekend also featured a round of the UK Autotest Championship, helping bring a motorsport element to the event while maintaining the heritage-focused atmosphere.  

Combined with club displays, motorcycle showcases, exhibitors, and automotive demonstrations throughout the city centre, there was plenty for visitors to explore throughout the weekend.
