Selling

What if my reserve price isn't met?

When you set a reserve price for your item, it represents the minimum amount you're willing to accept for the item. If the auction-style listing ends and there are no bids placed above your reserve price, then the item will not be sold. This means you are not obligated to sell the item at a lower price than the reserve. As the auction progresses, you may want to adjust your reserve price to attract more potential buyers and increase the chances of a successful sale.

Tip: Your reserve price is secret unless you want to share it with bidders. Some sellers include it in their product descriptions or tell buyers they can contact them if they want to know what it is.

*When reducing your reserve price, it must be set just above the current highest bid—for example, if the highest bid is £40.00, the lowest you can set your reserve is £10.01.

Options After the Auction:

Relist the Item: You have the option to relist the item in a new auction, either with the same reserve price or a revised one. Relisting gives you another opportunity to attract potential buyers and secure a successful sale.

Negotiate with Interested Buyers: If you received inquiries or messages from potential buyers during the auction, you can engage with them privately to negotiate a sale.

Adjust the Price: Alternatively, you can consider adjusting the price of the item to make it more attractive to potential buyers. Lowering the reserve price or setting a fixed price may encourage more interest and increase the likelihood of a successful sale.
