Joining the HCVA—Driving the Future of Historic Vehicles
3 Dec 2024
We’re thrilled to announce that ifndautoparts has officially joined the Historic & Classic Vehicles Alliance (HCVA)! As the newest member of this incredible organization, we’re excited to align our mission with the HCVA’s dedication to preserving and protecting the historic vehicle community.
If you're not familiar with the HCVA, they're the people fighting the good fight for classic car owners across the UK. While politicians chat about banning this and restricting that, the HCVA actually gets things done – protecting our right to keep historic vehicles on the road, sourcing replacement parts, and making sure future generations can experience these incredible machines.
Why This Matters for You
Here's the thing – classic car ownership shouldn't be a privilege reserved for the wealthy or the well-connected. Whether you're restoring a barn-find Morris Minor or keeping a cherished family MG on the road, you deserve access to the parts you need without jumping through hoops.
That's exactly what the HCVA fights for, and it's precisely why we built ifndautoparts in the first place.
What We Bring to the Table
The HCVA's members include some serious players – specialist manufacturers, restoration experts, and people who've been in the classic car game for decades. What we bring is something different: a platform that actually works for finding those impossible-to-source components.
You know the drill – you need a specific trim piece for your Series 1 E-Type, and you end up spending weeks trawling through autojumbles and Facebook groups. Our comprehensive guide to sourcing classic car components shows you exactly how to track down even the most obscure parts, but sometimes you need that extra edge.
That's where being part of the HCVA network really pays off. We're not just connecting individual enthusiasts anymore – we're plugged into the wider industry, working with manufacturers, specialists, and restoration shops who understand what it takes to keep these cars alive.
Looking Forward
This isn't just about us joining another organisation. It's about making sure that in twenty years' time, people can still buy the parts they need to keep their classics running. Not everything needs to be electric, autonomous, or "smart" – sometimes you just want to hear a proper engine note and feel a mechanical handbrake.
The HCVA gets that. They're fighting to preserve not just the cars, but the entire culture around them.
What's Next
Keep an eye out for us at upcoming HCVA events. We'll be there, probably arguing about the best way to find wing mirrors for Austin Healeys or debating whether aftermarket alternatives are acceptable for concours restorations.
More importantly, this partnership means we can do more of what we do best – getting the right parts to the right people at the right time. Because every classic car deserves to be on the road, not gathering dust in a garage waiting for that one elusive component.
Welcome to the next chapter. It's going to be a good one.
